Best Dog Treats... Is this your abutting Business?

Best Dog Treats...Is this a business for you?
fff
/>
My story begins about 7 years ago, when I came home and found my Wife covered in
white flour, with scatttered pans and wax paper all over the kitchen.
Our three dogs were patientently guarding the doorway of the kitchen into the living room.  Their attention was riveted to the brown, mud colored, dough that my wife was stiff arming on the counter. When a small piece fell from her work, there was a small war of growls and posturing with the winner gulping down the prized piece that hit the floor.
She was making "Dog Treats!"  One of todays up and coming money makers that many are
realizing during this tough economy.
Ceil, had rummaged around the freezer and pulled out all the older packaged meats, liver,
flour, brewers yeast, overlooked vegetables, and whatever else could not get out of the way.

Best Dog Treats

Since we treat our family dog as part of our family we want to give him the best dog treats that we can buy.  Shopping for dog treats can be very confusing. There are many different brands from store brands to private brands.  How will you decide what brand to buy?  This article will covering some basic information to use when purchasing your next bag of doggy treats.

If you decide to buy organic dog treats you should know that there are three labels for organic according to the USDA who by the way is the only agency that can certify treats as organic.  If the label says that following:

1.  100% organic means that all the ingredients are organic

2.  "Organic" means that 95% of the ingredients are organic

3.  "Made with organic ingredients" means they use 70% of the ingredients are organic

Now if you buy natural dog treats they are less expensive then organic but they contain ingredients that you don't want.  Natural can only guarantee that the treat will not have food coloring or food additives like sodium metabisulfite or ethoxyquin.  These ingredients have been link to allergies and possible liver tumors.  Also look for "animal byproducts" which are leftovers from the processing.  These "animal byproducts" can be bones, hooves and any other part that has been labeled unfit for human consumption.

If you decide to make your own treats there are also some things to take into consideration.  Will you have the time to make these treats all the time.  You will need to research on the internet for recipes to use.  but there are many health benefits for making your own dog treats:

1.  fewer digestive problem because you control the type of flour used

2.  stronger immune system because of the antioxidantes

3.  more vitamins and mineral because the ingredients are closer to nature

4.  fewer vet bills because of all the above reasons

5.  fewer allergies because you control the ingredients

When you make your own treats your dog's immune system will not have to work overtime to combat the negative side effects of poor nutrition.  Remember to always discuss any diet changes to your dog's diet with your vet.
