Dietary No Nos - What Not to Feed Your Dog

We have all encountered an untrained dog that will get food from nothing to what is on the kitchen counter. A dog sitting experience for two terriers of a friend found on my return home, that a gift bag Easter candy that had been sitting, was divvied on the counter, unwrapped, scattered throughout the house and ate. Fortunately, these dogs have been wise to the fact that chocolate is () especially dark chocolate toxic to dogs and not touch itone of the foiled wrapped chocolate eggs, but the gum was a different story. She devoured every last bit, with Thank God, no side effects.

This is not always the case "deals" that dogs found around the house and yard. Another friend a playful Labrador, managed to retrieve a box of raisins from a kitchen cupboard left ajar. Besides the fact that the dog's naughtiness, no one thought to give some of it, because people often have their dogs grapes or angryraisons for treats. In general, most dogs will vomit grapes or raisons without negative side effects, but in some cases the dogs are being poisoned by the fruit and, in extreme cases, can suffer kidney failure. If you find that your dog has managed to get a hold of a bunch of grapes or raisons, induce vomiting, and check with the Animal Poison Control Center in your area.

Here is a list of some other foods should be avoided, you feed your dog:

- Raw liver

- Milk and other diaryProducts - dogs are lactose-intolerant

- Cat food can cause metabolic imbalances

- Tea, coffee and cola type drinks (similar to chocolate in the form) of toxic

- Bread dough

- Turkey Skin

- Raw fish, especially salmon

- Mushrooms

- Raw Eggs

- Walnuts and macadamia nuts

Many vegetables and meat are in order for your pet, but if you make your own dog food, it is advisable to do a little research onfirst, specific to your race, on the selection of foods.

If you have an organic or natural dog food route but are not inclined to want to make their own pet food from scratch, some companies provide ready-made food mixes. You can also suggested adding only water and other food items. Or you can purchase raw, frozen or freeze dried pet food usually made from 100% meat products made with no mixing required.
